Value Tradition
Quality Innovation Service
Rooted in tradition, with an eye
toward serving the market in the 21st century, CIV(USA) is a joint
venture between BODEGAS MARTÍNEZ BUJANDA and J. GARCIA CARRION.
This dynamic partnership, with offices located in Spain as well
as the U.S. gives us a unique ability to serve the two universal
needs in the market - value and service.
Our offices in Spain allow us to have our finger on the pulse of
the Spanish wine industry in sourcing value driven and innovative
wines. That means that we can be truly selective and maintain a
focused portfolio instead of taking the "scattershot"
approach so often employed where one brings in all that they can
and hope that something "sticks." Commitment to keeping
offices and staff throughout the U.S. means we can feed information
to Spain about what the market needs while being local and accessible
to quickly serve consumer and trade needs here in America. These
needs cover a wide range, but education and information certainly
top our list.
The results of this philosophy speak for themselves. In just 10
short years, CIV(USA) has become one of the most important importers
of Spanish wines to the U.S. Our portfolio begins with Bodegas Martínez
Bujanda, one of the few Rioja wineries to use only estate grown
fruit and clearly one of the driving forces behind the Rioja regions
international rise to prominence by capturing traditional style
and combining it with fresh, bold, fruit driven wines. The extraordinary
growth rate of our Cristalino Cava illustrates what happens when
you combine the quality and taste the market desires at a truly
great price. Cristalino is one of the few wines breathing new life
into a languishing category and we confidently believe that this
may be the "Best Sparkling Wine Value on the Planet!"
Seeking out small, highly regarded gems like our dynamic duo of
white wines - Condes de Albarei Albariño and the tiny Marques
de Alella Clásico are the result of our Spanish offices diligence
and selectivity. In addition, we work with growers and artisans
to bring in wines from many of Spains lesser known regions
as well as old standbys (such as Sherry) and new to the scene blockbusters
(like Ribera del Duero).
We take great pride in raising the consciousness and broadening
the exposure and distribution of wines from Spain in the United
States. We will continue to work with grower producers to advance
quality and value as well as with the trade and press in this country
to broaden knowledge and interest in Spanish wines.
Our ultimate goal is to provide increased profits to distributors
and the highest value, satisfaction and enjoyment to the trade and
consumers.
