CIV, S.A., the parent company of CIV (USA) is based in Barcelona, Spain and was formed in 1984 as a consortium of wineries whose objective was to build an international distribution network for brands previously not exported.

CIV (USA) was incorporated in 1989 when the commitment was made to build these brands in the United States. The owners of CIV (USA) are two family owned wineries - Bodegas Martinez Bujada - Rioja and Cavas Jaume Serra-Penedés (Barcelona) - with long histories dating back to 1889. Each has substantial assets and holdings which enabled them to make the financial commitment necessary to the start up of CIV (USA).

This dynamic and innovative partnership has been successful in establishing these two wineries among the premier exporters from their respective regions. The fact that we have been able to do so in such a short period of time is a tribute to our philosophy of seeking out a limited number of brands at only the highest level of quality and value. Our goal is to provide the highest value and satisfaction to the trade and consumers, while seeking out the highest quality artisan producers from Spain.
