[Finca Valpiedra]
[Reviews] [The Wine]
[Where to Buy]
Situated
on the banks of the Ebro River, the Finca Valpiedra vineyard is located
at altitudes ranging from 1330 to 1400 feet above sea level. The ideal
climatic conditions this vineyard enjoys and is soil composition of sand
and limestone combine to produce exceptional grapes. The vineyard is comprised
of 173 acres of Tempranillo, 9 acres of Mazuelo and 11 acres of Cabernet
Sauvignon. Most of the vines are more that 25 years old.
Because of the extraordinary and consistent quality of the
grapes from the Finca Valpiedra vineyard, the Martínez Bujanda
family decided that it warranted its own single-vineyard estate bottling,
the first vintage of which is the 1994. The wine, which bears the same
name as the vineyard, is a blend of 95% Tempranillo and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
