[Finca Valpiedra] [The Vineyards] [Reviews] [Where to Buy]
Finca Valpiedra is vinified in a new state-of-the-art winemaking facility that the Martínez Bujanda family recently built on the estate. Following fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, Finca Valpiedra is aged in French and American oak casks for 15 months and then bottle-aged for an additional two years. Deep cherry red in color, Finca Valpiedra 1994 has a very elegant nose with aromas of fruit and oak. The taste is marked by fresh acidity, firm tannins and ripe fruit. Deliciously rich and lush, the wine has a complex, lingering finish. Though enjoyable now, Finca Valpiedra 1994 will reward the patient wine collector for many years to come. Produced in limited quantities, Finca Valpiedra 1994 made its US debut in 1998. The approximate retail price is $23. |
